In a World of My Own

Although I may seem like an adventurous individual who is never home and always traveling, sometimes that is far from the truth. Despite my love for travel, I consider myself a huge home-body, and in times like these when I am in this cycle of school, work, sleep, and repeat, I have started to love the time that I spend by myself- in a world of my own.

Of course, when I have time, I still love to travel. But there is something about spending time with myself, listening to music, discovering new series, and cooking up new recipes that I love the most. I did not realize this about myself until this week.

This past week was similar to others within the past few months, yet instead of constantly trying to find something to do, I allowed myself to relax; to feel content, to do whatever I wanted, and comfortable with my alone time. I did the same things that I usually do, such as going to class during the day to get closer to my degree and working nights to save up money for my next adventure. The only difference was that during my downtime I took time to sit and just breathe, which is something I have been needing to do.

The world can be so big, fast-moving, and overwhelming at times. We all must take time for ourselves and be comfortable with spending time alone. You can learn a lot about yourself when you allow yourself to take a break, and of course, you deserve it!
